Organisers of the Joint Interventional Meeting (JIM) have announced that the 2022 edition of the event, which had been scheduled to take place 10–12 February in Milan, Italy, will instead take place between 23–25 June*.

In a statement on the event’s website, the organisers said that the decision had been taken due to ongoing restrictions related to the pandemic. The event will offer in-person and virtual participation options.

The statement reads: “The progress of the pandemic has again affected our programmes, forcing us to change course. At this time it is not recommended to have meetings with large numbers of participants and we strongly want to welcome as many participants as possible and to meet everyone safely and without concern.

“For this reason we have decided to postpone the dates of the congress and we will organise a ‘JIM SUMMER EDITION’ from 23 to 25 June 2022, always in Milano.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, but we promise that we will offer you in return a far more satisfying experience for everyone! We will be awaiting you all in June!”

The event is the latest to face disruption to the pandemic, with The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) also having moved its 2022 annual meeting from an in-person to a virtual event due to health and safety concerns.

*Update 8/2/2022: Organisers have subsequently advised that the meeting dates have again changed, taking place 19 to 21 June 2022.
