Stentys developer of the Self-Apposing stent to treat acute myocardial infarction has announced the launch of the Stentys AC thrombectomy device.

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) recommends that cardiologists try removing as much clot chunks as possible prior to implanting a stent in order to minimise distal embolization. Stentys AC is designed to safely recover debris and can be used in concert with its Self-Apposing devices, Stentys BMS and Stentys DES.

“Coronary thrombectomy devices are a US$40 million market and we are very pleased to offer our customers a device with the best aspiration power on the market to be used with our breakthrough Self-Apposing stents for treating acute myocardial infarction,” said Gonzague Issenmann, CEO, Stentys.
