P&F Products & Features has announced the acquisition of AVVie, developer of the AngelValve augmentation system for the treatment of mitral valve disease.
AVVie was founded by the cardiac surgeon Werner Mohl (Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria) and spun out of MedUni Vienna. Its technology, also described as the mitral butterfly system, is a hemi valve replacing the function of the native, dysfunctioning posterior leaflet and restores full coaptation with a nitinol-based frame and a pericardial membrane by sliding over the diseased leaflet while preserving the motion and function of the anterior leaflet.
The technology has been designed to prevent unphysiological inflow caused by diverse pathophysiologic origins like degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR) and functional mitral regurgitation (FMR) and to minimise outflow obstruction. It can be delivered via minimally invasive surgery or transseptal delivery.

Devices within the P&F portfolio include TricValve, a transcatheter bicaval valve system a minimally invasive, catheter-based therapy designed to reduce caval reflux and improve cardiac output by implanting self-expanding valves in the venae cavae. TricValve received CE marking in February 2026.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
