TCT 2016: First live case featuring Desolve NXT scaffold to be presented

Elixir Medical has announced that it will showcase the first live case demonstration by transmission in the USA of its Desolve NXT novolimus-eluting bioresorbable coronary scaffold system at 2016 Transcatheter Cardiovascular Technologies (TCT) meeting (29 October–2 November, Washington DC. USA). The live case is due to be broadcast on the 30 October and, also, an Elixir-sponsored satellite symposium is scheduled on the same day from 6pm to 8pm.

According to a press release, Elixir will announce new six-month data for its 120µm thin-strut Desolve Cx fully bioresorbable novolimus-eluting scaffold and the four-year data on the Desolve novolimus-eluting scaffold during the scientific conference. The complete schedule for Elixir’s activities is as follows (unless otherwise stated all events take place at the conference centre).

29 October; 6–8pm: Challenging case—an 80-year-old patient with multiple metal allergies and a bifurcation lesion treated with DESolve (included kissing balloon). Practical Solution: Can Bioresorbable Scaffold (BRS) be the treatment for a different BRS Restenosis and Bioresorbable Scaffold Recoil?

30 October; 10.30am: LIVE CASE from Antwerp Cardiovascular Centre, ZNA, Antwerp, Belgium (by Stefan Verheye) using fully bioresorbable Desolve NXT novolimus-eluting scaffold
