Medtronic has been recognised as one of the world’s leading companies for sustainability, ranking on the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America) for the ninth consecutive year.
According to a company release, DJSI North America analyses companies on a variety of sustainability criteria, including economic performance, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
“Strong and sustainable environmental, social, and corporate governance initiatives practices and our efforts to address chronic disease are important drivers of delivering long-term consistent growth for all of our stakeholders,” says Omar Ishrak, Medtronic chairman and chief executive officer.
Medtronic also continues to be recognised by the FTSE4Good Index and Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, both announced earlier this year. According to the release, companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent environmental, social and governance criteria.
