With S Yen Ho, Cardiac Morphologist, Royal Brompton & Harefield London, UK, MediLive has developed a 3D training series for students and medical professionals.

According to a company press release, Ho is in high demand as a speaker at many internationally renowned conferences. It reported that with the training series that for the first time, she will share her knowledge. With heart specimens, she gives the viewer in nine sequels a unique insight into the human heart.

The first season “The Anatomy of the normal heart”, provides the viewer the basics; eg. the right and left atrium, the ventricle or the atrial and ventricular septum just to mention a few. The highlight of the series is that the pictures can be seen in 3D.

“This project demonstrates perfectly the great benefit of medical content being presented in 3D” stated Eberhardt Grube, from the University-hospital Bonn.

An additional success-factor is the use of modern online-tools. The videos are not played from a DVD, but instead streamed through the worldwide first professional 3D Internet platform, “Trivido.com”. This means the content is available worldwide and at anytime. 2D or 3D; the viewer can decide which system they prefers to see. For optimal 3D experiences a system with a 3D TV, 3D monitor or 3D computer-display and an internet-connection with at least 2 Mbit download speed is recommended.
