Arthesys has announced that it has received the CE mark for its fourth generation Maya coronary balloon catheter (and subsequently launched the device), which is available as a plain dilatation catheter, as part of a stent delivery system, or as part of a drug-eluting delivery platform.

According to a company press release, the Maya balloon catheter has pushed the limits still further, with an ultra-low profile and exceptional reliable compliance. On top of this, the catheter hypotube has been redesigned and comes with an extremely high kink resistance. Hydrophilic coating comes in various options, allowing it to reach and cross stenosis even more effectively.

The press release reported that the Maya stent delivery system platform provides a unique range of balloon profiles, from the ultra-low Maya dilation balloon profile to customised profiles adapted to all types of stent sizes. Balloon sizes cover an extensive range of approximately 500 references.
