The European Society of Hypertension (ESH), the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and PCR have announced that their joint initiative—The Resistant Hypertension Course—will be held this week (15–16th February 2013, Berlin, Germany).
This first Resistant Hypertension Course aims to provide a forum for hypertension specialists, physicians caring for hypertensive patients, physicians performing catheter-based interventional medicine and other healthcare providers, to reflect on the current state of knowledge and to share acquired experience.
This interactive and practical course is proposed as an open forum, where concerns can be expressed, answers found and consensus reached.
The course’s long-term common objectives are to help physicians across the multiple disciplines that are all focused on the resistant hypertensive patient, uncover the answer to “what is the best management and technical strategy for my patient?” and ensure a successful integration of promising new technologies into their armamentarium.
The societies’ desire is to craft a highly interactive course, developed by physicians for physicians, as well as provide an open forum for learning and exchange, with the following philosophies:
• At the core of course content and learning outcomes is the patient, as an individual
• At the heart of education is sharing experience
• At the source of better patient care is a multidisciplinary team approach
The first Resistant Hypertension Course is also endorsed by the European Society of Cardiology’s Working Group on the Heart and Hypertension, the German Society of Hypertension and the Italian Society of Hypertension.
The course will be held in Berlin, Germany on the 15th and 16th February 2013 and is organised by Europa Organisation, with the partnership of the following industry sponsors: Boston Scientific, Covidien, Cordis, Medtronic and St. Jude Medical.
