Biotronik has announced it has launched its next generation of guidewires, the Galeo Pro, for percutaneous coronary interventional (PCI) procedures. The company reported that this next generation of the classic Galeo guide wire inherits “outstanding” torque and trackability from previous models.

According to a company press release, Galeo Pro stands out because of its properties based on the high tensile stainless steel core which are increased durability and excellent shape retention. These allow the physician to treat multiple lesions with one wire, thus increasing safety and saving procedure time.

“Successful PCI starts with a good guidewire that you can rely on. A guidewire is certainly one of the most important tools for the physician and in many cases determines the success of the procedure”, explains Krzysztof Reczuch from the 4th
Military Clinical Hospital in Wroclaw, Poland. He added: “Galeo Pro provides excellent characteristics for both simple and challenging procedures. It delivers outstanding support, torque, and lubricity for easy passage through complex anatomies, as well as enabling the smooth delivery of devices.”
